TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – The U.S. Postal Service has announced it's putting on hold plans to close 600 urban and suburban post office branches, including 4 in Toledo.

Those who use Toledo Station A on Second Street say it's a vital part of their neighborhood and they want it to stay open.

"My business is on Main Street. We buy stamps here, anything we need to mail we drop it off here. We use the post office box from time to time. It's an important part of the neighborhood business district", says Dan Steingraber.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Preparations are underway to help honor the U.S. Navy in the Glass City, as ‘Toledo Navy Week' is set for August 20-27.

Five hundred sailors and 5 ships will be coming to town, which will allow people to tour historic ships and commissioned vessels currently in service.

The event will provide promotional opportunities for the Navy, as part of its tour to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812.
