2 fires in east Toledo, person in questioning

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now)- Many east Toledo families were awoken by the sound of fire crews early Tuesday morning.

Fires sparked at a home on the 400 block of Thurston Street and a home on the 700 block of Euclid Avenue. Both fires began around 4 a.m.

According to the fire chief on the scene, the home on Thurston Street was "fire bombed," meaning a flammable device was tossed onto the front porch, causing the fire to quickly spread.

Three adults and two children got out of the home safely, officials say.

Fire spreads to neighboring home in east Toledo

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now)- Firefighters battled a house fire in east Toledo late Saturday night. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

An emergency call for the fire came in around 11 p.m. for a home at the corner of Earl and Forsythe Streets.

A resident on the same street tells WTOL 11 he was standing across the street smoking a cigarette, when he saw an explosion from the front patio of the home. He then saw the backside of the house light up in flames.

Other neighbors say the same house was on fire earlier this week.
